It is implied that Red Hat® Linux
7.3 is already installed on your system.
- Log in
Log in as root to your
system.
- Prerequisites
Make sure that all the required
libraries are installed. Refer to section Package
requirements of chapter Preparing To Install Bankoi
WebHost Panel for the list of required libraries.
- You can check whether a
particular rpm is already installed by entering the
following command: rpm -q 'rpmname'.
For example:
bash$ rpm -q pam
pam-0.74-22
- If some rpm’s are missing,
you can install the rpm's of indicated versions or
higher from the RedHat 7.3 disc or you can obtain
them at ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.3/en/.
For installation use the following command:
rpm -Uvh 'rpm_name'.rpm
You can use Bankoi
WebHost Panel Autoinstaller to simplify
installation of Bankoi WebHost Panel and all
required RPMs.
IMPORTANT
Pay attention to the
options used. Utilizing -U instead
of -i will help you avoid some
problems during Bankoi WebHost Panel installation.
- If prior to installing
Bankoi WebHost Panel you have already installed and
configured MySQL, you need to perform one of the
following:
- set the empty password
for the MySQL root user, or
- create the user
admin with password setup and 'root'
privileges
- Base installation
Install the following base
Bankoi WebHost Panel rpm's from the directory 'base'
in your Bankoi WebHost Panel archive or from the "Downloads"
section at http://www.Bankoi WebHost Panel.com/
- courier-imap-1.7.0-30psa.rh7.3.i586.rpm
- psa-6.0.0-rh7.3.build030422.02.i586.rpm
- psa-courier-imap-add-6.0.0-rh7.3.build030422.02.i586.rpm

For installation use the
following command: rpm -Uvh 'rpm_name'.rpm
- Additional
In order to enable Bankoi
WebHost Panel to provide additional functionality you
can install a number of additional packages.
NOTE
These packages are not
required for Bankoi WebHost Panel to function
properly.
- If you plan to use server-wide
SPAM protection, you should install following rpm
from the 'opt/mail' directory
psa-qmail-rblsmtpd-0.70-rh7.3.build030422.02.i586.rpm
- In order for your Apache
to support FrontPage extensions and Apache::ASP it
is necessary to install rpm's from the directories 'opt/fp'
and 'opt/perl' respectively in your Bankoi WebHost
Panel archive, or from the "Downloads" section at
http://www.Bankoi WebHost Panel.com/
- In order for your server
to support JSP and Java Servlet it is necessary to
install following rpms from the 'opt/java' and 'Third_Party'
directories

- psa-tomcat-configurator-6.0.0-rh7.3.build030422.02.noarch.rpm
- j2sdk-1_4_1_01-fcs-linux-i586.rpm

- If you plan to use
PostgreSQL RDBMS, you should install the rpm's of
indicated versions or higher from the RedHat 7.3
disc or you can obtain them at ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.3/en/.
- postgresql-7.2.1-5.i386.rpm
- postgresql-server-7.2.1-5.i386.rpm
- postgresql-libs-7.2.1-5.i386.rpm
- Completion
When the installation is
finished, Bankoi WebHost Panel will have started
automatically. In order to complete the Bankoi WebHost
Panel initial configuration, you need to login to
Bankoi WebHost Panel on your host at https://machine.domain.name:8443/
or https://IP-Address:8443/
IMPORTANT
The default username is
admin and the default password is setup.
Both are case sensitive. For security reasons this
password should be changed upon initial login.
NOTE
Bankoi WebHost Panel cannot
enable user quotas on XFS partition during
installation because such operation requires remount
of XFS partition. In order to enable hard disk
quotas on XFS partition you should manually remount
it with usrquota option (additional information can
be found on 'quotaon' man page).
When you login to the Bankoi
WebHost Panel control panel for the first time, you are
taken to the post-installation configuration page, where
you are prompted to supply the following information:
- Select the shared IP
addresses list displays the whole range of IP
addresses in the pool. You need to select the
addresses that will be used as shared for name based
hosting accounts.
- Specify the full hostname
in the appropriate field.
- To change the default
administrator's password, type it in the
Administrator's password input field, and confirm in
the field below.
Click UPDATE button to complete
the initial configuration.
